The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have boosted their ruck stocks, signing Elizabeth 'Liz' McGrath as a delisted free agent.
The 25-year-old won the Kangaroos’ VFLW best and fairest award in 2022 before joining Port Adelaide ahead of its inaugural AFLW season.
North Melbourne AFLW football performance and talent manager Rhys Harwood said the club was excited to welcome the ruck back to Arden Street.
“Liz made a strong transition from our VFLW side to AFLW level in the opening rounds of Season 7 before being injured,” he said.
“We felt her competitive nature, physicality, and ruck craft during her time in our VFLW program translated well to her performances at Port Adelaide, and we were keen to give her the opportunity to continue her AFLW journey.
“Liz will add to our ruck depth but also has some attributes that will allow us to explore other roles for her across our system.”
McGrath’s return to Arden St follows the arrival of key forward Kate Shierlaw and defensive duo Lulu Pullar and Eliza Shannon during the 2023 AFLW Sign and Trade Period.
