North may be the subject of much discussion over the age of its list, but the numbers actually show the club will be younger on average than last year.

Before the National Draft, the club’s average age dropped from 25.30 years to 25.09 with the retirements of several experienced players.

The Roos took five selections including four 18-year-old’s and 17-year-old Ben McKay.

Majak Daw (24) was re-rookied, while Farren Ray (29) arrived with 200 games under his belt.

As at January 1, 2016, the average age of the Roos’ list will have dropped to 24.88 years.

The introduction of youth has also seen the squad’s average game tally drop from 92.8 at the start of 2015, to 90.77.

In all, North turned over seven players (plus Category-B rookie Eric Wallace) during the exchange and draft periods.

Jed Anderson has played just ten games, while the draftees will be hoping to make their debuts in 2016.

Ray (205 games) takes the arrivals’ total to 215 matches between them. The departures on the other hand accounted for almost 500 games’ experience.
