Former Roo Josh Walker has officially called time on his 139-game AFL career, announcing his decision via Twitter on Friday morning.
Before serving three seasons at Arden Street, swingman Walker spent four years at both the Cats and Lions and was Brisbane's leading goalkicker when they finished 17th in 2016.
He made 54 appearances for North Melbourne including every game in the 2020 COVID-19 impacted season and performed admirably in 2021 as a makeshift key defender when Aidan Corr and Robbie Tarrant were absent.
Doesn’t sound so bad - no more running, skin folds, ice baths etc. Thanks to 3 great clubs that gave me the opportunity to live out a boyhood dream 139 times. Will miss the people the most but know that many of the friendships made will be for life! Excited for whatever’s next. pic.twitter.com/brX5Vy79vB

In what came to be his final season, Walker tallied 16 games and played a pivotal role in North's Round 2 win over the Eagles with 21 disposals and eight marks.
The 30-year-old wasn't offered a contract by the Kangaroos in October, but showed interest in continuing his career elsewhere.
But with AFL lists filling up at the drafts earlier this week, Walker subsequently chose to hang up the boots.
