North Melbourne has been boosted by a key off-season re-signing, with Spirit of Tasmania committing to a partnership extension with the club.
A platinum partner since 2012, the newly inked three-year deal supporting the AFL men’s program will take Spirit of Tasmania’s partnership with the club into its 14th year.
North Melbourne is set to play four AFL home games per season in Hobart across 2023, 2024 and 2025.
“The club’s partnership with Spirit of Tasmania is one we are immensely proud of,” North Melbourne Acting Chief Executive Officer Chris Simmonds said.
“We have been partners since 2012 and we have seen them grow from their original Victorian terminal to this amazing new home in Geelong.
“The opening of Spirit of Tasmania’s new Geelong terminal will provide an exciting new experience for our members and fans to travel to Tassie for games in 2023 and beyond.
“Tassie is our home away from home, our Tasmanian supporters have been unwavering in their support and what better way for our Victorian-based supporters to travel across Bass Strait than on the Spirit of Tasmania.”
Spirit of Tasmania Chief Executive Officer Bernard Dwyer said the company was very pleased to further extend its long-term relationship with the North Melbourne Football Club.
“While supporting AFL games in Tasmania is important and positively impacts the Tasmanian community and economy in a number of ways, for us the significant brand recognition the partnership has delivered Spirit of Tasmania in key interstate markets, particularly Victoria, was a key factor in our decision to continue,” he said.
“In addition to specifically supporting AFL football being played in Hobart at Blundstone Arena, we have partnered with the club to help foster the implementation of community in both Tasmania and Victoria. We are very pleased that this important work will also continue.”
Spirit of Tasmania will feature on the back of the men’s guernsey, media back drop, coaches box and changeroom signage, coaches apparel as well as signage at Blundstone Arena and Marvel Stadium.
Spirit of Tasmania has also been a platinum partner of the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos since the club’s inception in the AFLW. Earlier this year, the club announced the continuation of Spirit of Tasmania’s partnership with the Kangaroos’ AFLW side for Season 7.
