The influential North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos duo consisting of veteran defender Emma Kearney and superstar midfielder Jasmine Garner have been selected in the 2022 Season 7 AFLW All-Australian team, with the latter being named captain of the star-studded side.
Included in the team for a fifth straight time and fifth in total, Garner was a dominant force in all facets of the game for the Kangaroos this season, polling maximum AFLW Champion Player of the Year votes from the coaches five times.
The No.25 averaged 22.8 disposals, 5.2 tackles, 5.2 clearances and 5.2 inside 50s a game through 13 weeks and finished the season with eight goals to her name.
A permanent fixture in the All-Australian side, Kangaroos captain Kearney notched her seventh appearance when she was named in the backline during Tuesday night's W Awards.
The North Melbourne stalwart's selection sees her remain as the only player in the AFLW to have been named in every final team since the league formed in 2017.
Kearney averaged 15.9 disposals and seven intercept possessions per game in defence and led the Roos to a maiden preliminary final.
Fellow midfielder Jenna Bruton was unlucky to not receive her first All-Australian blazer after a standout individual campaign saw her named in the 42-player squad.
