The night dedicated to awarding the AFLW's best for their outstanding season efforts has arrived and several stars hailing from Arden Street are in the running to be recognised as some of the competition's elite for Season 7.
The W Awards will be held on Tuesday, 22 November 2022 at 7.30 pm AEDT and broadcast live on FOX FOOTY and Kayo Sports.
North Media takes a look at which Roos are in contention for the league's most coveted individual honour and those in line for All-Australian blazers.
AFLW Best and Fairest
A Kangaroo is yet to claim the AFLW Best and Fairest Award since the league's formation, but the overarching feeling is that it is about to change.
After receiving her second AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year Award earlier this month, gun midfielder Jas Garner is undoubtedly one of the frontrunners for Tuesday's top prize.
Garner gave several masterclasses throughout her seventh campaign at the highest level, earning five perfect 10s from the coaches while averaging 22.8 disposals, 5.1 clearances and 5.4 inside 50s per game through the home and away season.
Alongside Garner in the engine room is ball-magnet Ash Riddell who continued to be a strong contributor in her fifth season at the club.
The No.7 polled the most votes for the Kangaroos last season with 17 to finish fourth overall and is always in the top-three player mix.
Jenna Bruton, another key feature of North Melbourne's star-studded midfield, could invite votes off the back of some profound performances against the Cats in Round 4 and Bulldogs in Round 5, while Emma Kearney also stood out at several stages throughout the season thanks to her clinical ball usage off half-back.
Key forward Tahlia Randall impacted numerous games with her unmatched contested marking ability and may pinch a few votes off the midfield brigade.
She kicked three goals on two occasions and played a pivotal role against the Magpies in Round 8 with a season-high five contested marks and two majors.
Last season's pollers
Ash Riddell β 17 votes
Jas Garner β 11
Jenna Bruton β 6
Emma Kearney β 3
All-Australian Team
With the recent addition of Port Adelaide, Essendon, Hawthorn and Sydney to the competition, the All-Australian squad was extended to 42 players from 40 for Season 7.
The final team is set to be announced during the W Awards, with Kearney, Bruton and Garner all potential members of the final team.
North Melbourne's captain Kearney is aiming to become a seven-time All-Australian, which would be an unparalleled feat across the AFLW.
After four consecutive selections in the team, Garner is aiming for a fifth in Season 7 which speaks volumes of her excellent consistency since arriving at North Melbourne.
Having been recognised by the panel for the third time in her career, Bruton will be vying for her first All-Australian selection. The 27-year-old was once again a vital part of North's midfield, with her capacity to play both as a hard-nosed inside midfielder as well as a clean ball user on the outside.
Riddell and Randall could be considered unlucky to not make the extended squad after productive campaigns.
