The AFL Players' Association has revealed the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos' MVP Award nominees for Season 7.

Each club has three players in contention for the MVP Award, one for Best First Year Player and one for Most Courageous, while a Best Captain Award will also be presented with every club captain selected automatically.

Emma Kearney is one of North's three MVP nominations, and after captaining the side for a fifth straight season she is again in contention for the Best Captain Award.

Playing all games bar one, Kearney guided the Roos to their first preliminary final appearance since entering the competition while averaging 15.9 disposals and seven intercept possessions per game off half-back.

Alongside Kearney is two-time AFLCA Champion Player Award winner Jasmine Garner who is in contention to win her second AFLPA MVP award after claiming her first in 2020.

Kicking a total of eight goals while averaging 22.8 touches per game, Garner's incredible ball-winning ability and clever possession usage shone through yet again throughout the season.

Fellow midfielder Jenna Bruton rounds out the three nominees.

As reliable as ever, Bruton spent more time in the trenches this season but continued to be just as damaging on the outside thanks to her pinpoint disposal and run and carry.

After coming over from Ireland and impressing immediately, Vikki Wall is up for the Best First Year Player Award.

Wall's mix of strength and speed quickly became an issue for defenders, and her footballing IQ and game sense is only going to improve with the more time she spends in the AFLW.

Young midfielder Amy Smith is in the running for the Most Courageous Award.

In her third season in the royal blue and white, Smith's confidence rose week to week which was exemplified by her attack on the contest in the elimination final against Geelong when she tallied 17 tackles.

The AFL Players’ Association will reveal the MVP Award winners on Wednesday, November 23 after 6pm AEDT.
