The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos suffered their third defeat of Season 7 last week but despite the result, the side managed to match, and often outplay a Lions outfit that is broadly considered the best of the competition.
The valiant effort delivered team-wide will again make it difficult for any changes to be made unless Darren Crocker and the match committee sees this week as an opportunity to feature a new Roo.
Midfielder Perri King and ruck Grace Matser are two young players yet to be tried at senior level and could be called upon for the clash against Port, while small forward Ella Maurer could be considered for her second career game.
With her strong defensive presence and tackling ability, King would add a different dynamic to the midfield, whereas Matser could serve as another tall target but with the tandem of Emma King and Kim Rennie as well as Tahlia Randall down forward, she may need to continue biding her time.
Midfielder Hannah Bowey and draftee Cassidy Mailer are also yet to make their debuts but are both unavailable for selection this week.
Bowey suffered a concussion during training last Thursday and will be monitored closely throughout the coming week, while Mailer continues to deal with a bone stress issue.
Experienced Roo Ellie Gavalas is nearing a return to action. She will likely be available for Round 10.
