Ellie Gavalas is closing in on a return to action, while untried young midfielder Hannah Bowey won't be available for selection against Port Adelaide due to concussion.
Gavalas strained her hamstring during training in the build-up to the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos' clash with Adelaide back in Round 3 but has progressed through rehab positively since sustaining the injury.
"Over the past week we have been able to tick off some key objectives as part of her rehab plan," AFLW performance manager Alex Veitch said.
"As part of the next phase, she will join the main group for modified training this week as we build her training loads.
"We expect her to be available for Round 10 to allow her to build match conditioning through training before returning."

Unavailable for Round 8 selection is Bowey who suffered a concussion during training last Thursday and has been placed under concussion protocols.
"We will continue to monitor her progress throughout the week with a view for her to be available for selection in Round 9," Veitch said.
Draftee Cassidy Mailer continues to work through a bone stress injury, but remains indefinite in terms of a return date.
