After narrowly losing to the Crows in Adelaide, North Melbourne’s finals chances are all but over, and the match committee may take this as an opportunity to ring in the changes.
With a number of youngsters impressing in the VFL lately, and some returns from injury, there may be more than the one change enforced by the injury to Will Walker on Sunday.
North Media takes a look at those in the mix for Round 23.
Defenders
Ben McKay has been one of the VFL side’s best performers throughout the season, and could finally be rewarded in Round 23.
Tom Murphy has been close to a recall since dropping out of the side, having been named as the game-day emergency on a number of times.
Midfielders
Luke Davies-Uniacke will be hopeful of returning to the AFL after putting in some consistent footy at VFL level, and being named as an emergency last week.
Declan Mountford is in a similar position to Davies-Uniacke, and will be hoping to get the nod for his first AFL appearance of the season.
Billy Hartung has recently returned from a hamstring injury, and his speed and ability to break lines may be called upon by the match committee.
Forwards
Nick Larkey is the leading goal-kicker in the VFL, and may be rewarded with a first AFL call-up in 2018.
