MULTICULTURAL & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
The AFL is Australia’s premier sporting organisation supporting a constantly evolving national competition and community football network which has experienced rapid growth over the past 10 years.
The North Melbourne Football Club is currently seeking a suitably qualified Multicultural Development Officer to join its North Melbourne Learning and Life Centre project, which is being developed in conjunction with the Australian Multicultural Foundation and the Scanlon Foundation.
The position will be located within the northern region of Melbourne with an office within the North Melbourne Football Club's state-of-the-art facility at Arden Street, which is due for completion in November 2009. The successful candidate will operate under the direction of the Executive Director – Learning and Life Centre.
Responsibilities will include direct program delivery and development throughout their region with emphasis on programs and activities for culturally and linguistically diverse young people and their families.
The successful candidate will have experience in working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, will have demonstrated experience in the delivery of football development programs along with well developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
The successful candidate will also work closely with existing and potential community partners to ensure that Learning and Life Centre programs provide maximum benefit to the community. This includes designing and managing programs in conjunction with community partners and government departments and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders in the North and West Melbourne community.
