Bailey Scott will remain a Roo after signing a two-year contract extension with the club.

A father-son selection, Scott arrived at the club ahead of the 2019 season. A Rising Star nominee in his debut game in round 1, 2019, Scott’s rise continued when he was awarded the club’s best young player award in 2020.

After a strong finish to his 2021 season, Scott hit the ground running in 2022, his fourth season at AFL level.

The 22-year-old enjoyed the best season of his short career, averaging 18 disposals across 21 games.

His year was capped off with a third-place finish in the Syd Barker Medal, the first time the young Roo has placed inside the top 10.

“We are really pleased to have Bailey commit to our club,” North Melbourne’s list and recruiting manager Brady Rawlings said.

“There has obviously been a lot of external discussion around Bailey’s future. Bailey is passionate about the North Melbourne Football Club and has a lot of confidence in where we are headed.

“As a club, we are invested in Bailey, he’s an important player to us and his recent accolades speak for themselves.

“It’s a great outcome for all involved.”
