North Melbourne's nominees for the 2022 MVP Awards have been revealed by the AFL Players Association.

Each club has three players in contention for the MVP Award, one for best first-year player and one for most courageous, while a best captain award will also be presented with every club captain automatically selected.

Key defender Ben McKay and the star midfield duo of Jy Simpkin and Luke Davies-Uniacke make up the three Kangaroos who have been put forward by the club for the MVP Award.

McKay enjoyed a career-best season, leading the league in intercept marks per game (4.1), while Simpkin and Davies-Uniacke averaged 26.6 and 24.9 disposals a game.

After impressing since his debut in Round 6, promising draftee Paul Curtis is up for the Best First Year Player Award.

Curtis, who went at pick No.35 in last year's draft, kicked 12 goals from 15 games this season including a three-goal haul in the win against Richmond in Round 18.

Co-captain Luke McDonald is in the running for the Most Courageous Award after a terrific individual campaign.

Having missed a large portion of 2021 due to quad and pectoral injuries, McDonald bounced-back superbly this year, managing to play all 22 games while averaging 20.3 disposals.

And after captaining the club for a sixth straight year, Jack Ziebell is in contention for the Best Captain Award.

The 2022 MVP Awards will be held on Wednesday, August 24 alongside the AFL Awards and broadcast live on Fox Footy from 7pm AEST.
