SYDNEY Swans co-captain Adam Goodes will challenge his one-match suspension for rough conduct against Port Adelaide's Jacob Surjan.

He will appeal the Match Review Panel's ban at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday evening.

Goodes was charged with level one rough conduct charge after he slid into a tackle with his legs at AAMI Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

He was given a one-match penalty that could not be reduced with an early guilty plea.

Goodes does not risk a longer suspension if his challenge is not successful.
