The support of your peers is vital at any football club, and three Kangaroos have received the ultimate nod from their teammates.
Todd Goldstein, Shaun Higgins and Drew Petrie have all been nominated for the AFL Players MVP Award, after voting from the Roos’ playing list.
Goldstein is set to be one of the favourites on the night, in one of the most dominant seasons from a ruckman in recent years.
The big man has averaged 15 disposals and an amazing 45 hit-outs per game, and looks in line for his first All-Australian selection after being named in the squad last week.
There’ll be hot competition from the likes of Nat Fyfe, Josh Kennedy and Dan Hannebery though, with the MVP winner decided by voting from players across the league.
Higgins has been dubbed the recruit of the year after amassing almost 20 possessions a game and booting 37 goals for the year.
The former Bulldog has had arguably the best season of his career, also named in the initial All-Australian squad.
Petrie is one of the elder statesmen at North, but hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down.
For the fifth consecutive year, he’s booted 40 goals or more (41) and has averaged more than seven marks per game throughout 2015.
Among the other awards to be presented on the night are the Best First Year Player, with rookie Will Fordham nominated by his teammates after an impressive season at VFL affiliate Werribee.
Vice-captain Jack Ziebell is among the candidates for the Most Courageous Player, while Ben Brown is in the mix for the 22under22 team.
The Most Valuable Player of 2015 will be crowned at the AFL Players’ MVP Awards on Tuesday, September 15. The event will be broadcast live on Fox Footy from 8.30pm EST.
