Change is afoot at Arden Street this week with the Leigh Adams era officially set to begin against the Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
After coaching North’s VFL side for the last two seasons there are a number of players who have impressed under Adams across his reserves tenure, and he could call on some familiar faces as he searches for the Kangaroos’ second win of the season.
North Media looks at who is in the mix.
Number one draft pick Jason Horne-Francis put together an exceptional performance in last week’s VFL loss to Collingwood, with the young midfielder easily finding the football despite copping a hard tag for much of the contest.
A quick-fire goal assist to Eddie Ford saw Horne-Francis begin the game as he meant to go one, and he finished with 31 disposals, seven clearances and a well-taken goal of his own.
Should the injured Jaidyn Stephenson fail to prove his fitness ahead of this weekend’s clash then Horne-Francis looks the most likely replacement for the enigmatic number two.
Mid-season draftee Kallan Dawson has been moving from strength to strength in his short time at the club and impressed with both his intercept marking prowess and ball-use against the Magpies.
One of the highlights of his game on the weekend was a desperate slide in the goalsquare in an attempt to rush the ball through for a behind and, while he was unsuccessful, it offered a great insight into the desire and attitude he brings to his role.
He proved to be a steadying presence in defence with ball in hand, and he was efficient with his 20 disposals whether he was going up the line or switching the play.
Matt McGuinness and Josh Goater have been stalwarts of the VFL side so far this year, with Goater in particular impressing over the last few weeks.
The first-year defender is at his best when he’s competing one on one with his man in a situation where his athleticism can thrive.
McGuinness, on the other hand, has been a calm and consistent contributor across the bulk of the season and has been close to a maiden senior call-up at times this season having been named as an emergency.
Atu Bosenavulagi was also a strong performer in defence against Collingwood where he finished with 17 disposals and eight marks.

Buy now!Eddie Ford has continued his strong form since returning from an ankle injury, with the young forward once again impressing with two well-taken goals against Collingwood on the weekend.
In the four games since his return Ford has exploded for eight goals, and has been a constant marking threat both inside 50 and higher up the ground. The intent with which he’s attacking the ball both in the air and at ground level is a sight to behold for North fans.
Jackson Archer and Kayne Turner are both chances to return from injury this weekend, with Turner looking the most likely to be fully fit for the Tigers' clash.
Turner missed last week’s game against Collingwood due to a concussion sustained against Geelong the week prior from an accidental collision with Mark Blicavs.
Prior to his injury the utility had been an ever-present in North’s senior side this season.
After impressing in his debut against the Adelaide in Round 15, a hip injury has left Archer sidelined for the past two games.
