Despite suffering a heartbreaking loss to Collingwood on the weekend, a number of North Melbourne Kangaroos have been recognised by senior coaches David Noble and Craig McRae in this week’s coaches' votes.

Luke Davies-Uniacke was awarded the maximum 10 votes for his stellar performance in midfield.

The 23-year-old was at his explosive best in the middle of the park, racking up 33 disposals, 11 tackles, 12 clearances and 791 metres gained - all match-highs - as he continues to elevate his game week on week.

Both coaches unsurprisingly rated Nick Larkey as the game’s second top performer, with the key forward’s five goals helping place North in pole position to win the game until it was overrun by the Pies. He polled eight votes.

Larkey made the most of an undersized Collingwood defence and his five majors for the day took him to 29 goals for the season.

Ben McKay made a full-time return to North’s defence to great effect and picked up two votes for his strong impression of a brick wall.

‘Buckets’ finished the game with an impressive 11 intercepts and ran at a disposal efficiency of over 90 per cent for the contest.

Todd Goldstein’s dominance also earned him two votes as the veteran swung between the ruck and the forward line to great effect.

Goldstein finished with a game-high 25 hitouts as well as four clearances and four tackles to indicate his quality in the middle of the ground. He also drifted forward to kick two goals.
