He's made headlines, created waves and had a huge impact since coming to North Melbourne, but Eric Wallace had to take a back seat recently when United States Ambassador Jeffrey Bleich and United States Consul General Melbourne Mary Warlick visited Aegis Park.

The high profile delegates made the special visit to make sure Wallace was fitting in as a Kangaroo and to see the club's world-class training facility.

Ambassador Bleich was more than impressed with what he saw. A great supporter of AFL, the Ambassador was pleased to have the opportunity to witness firsthand the results of North's investment in U.S. recruitment. The Ambassador and Consul General both praised the club for showing such innovation in recruitment.

Of particular interest to them was The Huddle and both Americans commended the club for not only focusing on the development of elite sports, but also for having such a vibrant and active community focus.

North chief executive Carl Dilena and chief operating officer Cam Vale escorted the guests through the building and outlined the club's plans for Wallace, accompanied by the largest amount of security personnel seen since the old days of the North Melbourne Social Club.

"It was great to have Ambassador Bleich and U.S. Consul General Warlick visit and we will continue to keep communicating with them on Eric's progress and how we can work together to promote the Kangaroos to other U.S. visitors with their support," Vale said.

"It's fair to say a number of staff were a little concerned with us taking the group on a tour surrounded by such a high security.  Some thought the President was coming." he joked.

The club presented Ambassador Bleich and Consul General Warlick with a signed Wallace jumper.
