AFL Fantasy is back for another season, and the team at Footy Prophet will again be supplying NMFC.com.au with premium fantasy analysis and tips for the 2015 season.

The Kangaroos scored an important win over West Coast, with some strong fantasy performances to show for it.

Shaun Higgins ($456,000) was the difference for North, kicking four goals, collecting 22 disposals and making six tackles. He ended up 119 fantasy points, by far his best score of the year.

With three tons in a row, it’s starting to look like Higgins is settling into his new side and finding his best form. His price has rising accordingly.

Always a stylish player, Higgins has just needed to keep himself on the ground and work on his consistency. If he has found his groove, both North and fantasy owners will benefit strongly.

We said Andrew Swallow ($462,000) was a massive inclusion and boy didn’t he have an impact? His defensive game was outstanding and he delivered the ball well in the swirling conditions.

Along with 20 disposals, Swallow had a swag of 13 tackles.

Tackles are fantasy gold and Swallow delivered for fantasy owners who stuck by him over his two weeks off with injury.

The skipper was also ably supported by the fierce tackling of Jack Ziebell ($490,000) and Ben Cunnington ($435,000).

Ziebell scored 106 fantasy points on the back of 24 disposals, eight tackles and a goal, while Cunnington had 20 disposals and nine tackles for 92 points.

Also deserving a wrap was Todd Goldstein ($507,000), who had to fight the imposing combination of Nic Naitanui and Callum Sinclair.

To Goldstein’s credit, he prospered, swatting 47 hit-outs and ten disposals, as well as six tackles for 106 fantasy points.

Finally, it must warm the hearts of North’s defenders to know that they can rely on Drew Petrie ($471,000) when he moves down back.

Petrie has been switching things up this year and against West Coast he both pushed up the ground and drifted back as needed.

The vice-captain finished on 19 disposals, seven marks and a goal, for 87 fantasy points. With a number of good performances already this year, Petrie has shown that his flattened fantasy scores from 2014 were an aberration.

Around the Grounds

Geelong were supremely dominant on Saturday night, not just on the field but also in fantasy terms. No less than eight players scored over one hundred fantasy points and there were many more in the 80-90 range.

Leading from the front, as usual, was Joel Selwood ($497,000), who had an exquisitely complete game. His 118 fantasy points comprised 26 disposals, five marks, six tackles and two goals.

James Kelly ($438,000) was next best on 117 points, his best score for the year. He had 28 touches and eight marks.

The remaining ton scorers were youngster Darcy Lang, Harry Taylor, Andrew Mackie, Corey Enright and Steven Motlop.

Down on his usual brilliance was Steve Johnson ($466,000), who had to leave the ground a number of times thanks to a cut on his head.

Johnson scored 91 fantasy points, but isn’t at his best as yet. If you have him, keep the faith, but keep one eye on a likely sideways trade target.

If you haven’t got him, look out for any return to form. Johnson shouldn’t be ignored at his current rock-bottom price.
