The North Melbourne Kangaroos are saddened by the passing of former player Jock O'Brien.
O'Brien - Shinboner No.506 - played a total of 33 games for North Melbourne between 1959 and 1961 and won the Gardiner Medal as the VFL Reserves Best and Fairest in 1961.
After leaving North Melbourne, O'Brien played for Ulverstone in the North West Football Union before transferring to Central District in 1964, playing in their inaugural SANFL season.
The Roos will wear black armbands against Port Adelaide in Saturday's AFL match in honour of O'Brien.
