This week North Melbourne takes on one of the most challenging away trips in the AFL. A long-haul flight to Perth to take on a flying Fremantle side is what faces the Kangaroos.
The teams involved this Friday night have both had conflicting starts to their 2022 seasons so far. Fremantle has won each of its last five fixtures to sit pretty in third on the ladder, while the Kangaroos' inconsistency so far this campaign sees them sit 17th after a run of five straight defeats.
A strong first-half showing from North was undone by a difficult second half against the Blues last week, however David Noble says this weekend presents another opportunity for his side to learn from its mistakes and take on one of the best teams in the competition.
"We've drawn a lot from our experiences against the top teams we've played so far. Even [in] the Brisbane game we learned a lot about ourselves," Noble said.
"Sydney, we did really well there, even the Blues. It's the manner in how you want to set your game up, how you go about it, what you're looking for and how you feel you can win the game. Then it's about what you learn and how you adjust as you go.
"We look forward and embrace the challenge of playing the top teams … you learn a lot about yourself really quickly.
"[Fremantle is] playing great system footy with the way they're structuring up the ground in both offence and defence. We've obviously got to be conscious of what and how they play and try to take some of those strengths away."

Buy now!Discussion around the possibility of North Melbourne receiving a priority pick from the AFL has dominated headlines in footballing circles over the last few weeks.
Teams receive priority picks on a discretionary basis by the AFL, and are awarded if the team receiving it is a struggling side in need of help to build for future success.
The last side to receive any kind of priority package from the AFL was the Gold Coast Suns ahead of the 2019 campaign.
Noble says while he's not involved in those discussions as to whether North will apply for a pick, wins are obviously the main priority for him and his players.
"I think it's a fair enough discussion from a media perspective but we try not to get too caught up in it … we've got a strong understanding and a strong faith in what we're doing internally," he said.
"You have to be careful about what outside noise is about and what that causes internally … I don't have too much of an issue with it but for us internally, we're not having that conversation.
"We go into each game wanting to win. There's no two ways of us stepping into each game with an expectation that we want to win."
