Tall forward exits Whitten Oval, heads to Visy Park for pick No.46.
Carlton has acquired Western Bulldogs' forward Liam Jones as a replacement for new Kangaroo Jarrad Waite.
As expected, Jones became a Blue with just five minutes remaining in the NAB AFL Trade Period on Thursday.
He was traded for the Blues' draft selection of No.46.
While it had been speculated Jones was on the way out since the end of the season, the arrival of GWS powerhouse Tom Boyd enhanced his desire to leave Whitten Oval.
Boyd joined the Dogs on a lucrative seven-year contract on Wednesday in a trade for captain Ryan Griffen.
Jones, 23, has played 66 games in his career including 10 this season.
He last played for the Dogs in round 15 this year and spent most of the second half of the season in the VFL.
His teammate Jason Tutt, who was also reportedly after a fresh start at Carlton, was not traded before the 2pm deadline.
Tutt could still become a Blue via the pre-season draft next month.
Waite moved to North Melbourne as a free agent at the start of the month, leaving a hole in the Blues' forward line.
