Quotes
“I just pushed off my man and went back to take a mark, and one of their forwards came through and got me pretty flush in the back. I was in a fair bit of pain, I knew something was up.” – Tippett on a back injury which kept him out for a month
What the coach said – Ben Dyer
“He’s as reliable as you’d want for a key defender. Every week you can play him on the deepest key forward from the opposition and it’s hard to think of games where he was beaten.
“It was good from the club’s point of view because you knew if Taz (Robbie Tarrant) ever went down, you had someone ready to come in who was playing good footy.
“He was unlucky from that perspective in not getting a shot, and he couldn’t have done much more from a VFL point of view.
“You don’t go to a game and notice him terribly much, but when you go back and have a look at his tape, he just blankets his opponent.”
