Ben Cunnington has been given the all-clear to take on Carlton on Sunday.

Cunnington was helped from the ground during the first quarter and received treatment on his knee after an awkward tackle. He returned in the second term and put on a commanding performance, helping the Roos defeat Melbourne for the 16th time in succession.

North doctor Peter Baquie confirmed Cunnington would be available for selection.

“We sent Ben for scans on Monday as a precaution to ensure there was no damage to the knee and there was certainly nothing to cause any concern,” Baquie told NMFC.com.au.

“He’ll be available to train this week and we expect him to play on Sunday.”

Jed Anderson is also likely to be available for selection this week, after he was ruled out of last week’s clash with a foot injury from a training mishap last week.

“Jed’s tracking very well and assuming he gets through training this week, we’re hopeful he will be in line for a return this week.”

The club can also confirm forward Ben McKay will be sidelined for another 3-4 weeks.

“Unfortunately Ben had a bit of a setback in his recovery and will need some more time,” Baquie added.

“It’s disappointing for Ben, but we’re confident he’ll be able to have a strong second half of the season.”
