Emma Kearney, Ash Riddell and Jas Garner have all capped off stellar individual campaigns by being named in the AFLW All-Australian team for 2022.

The side is headlined by Kearney who has now become the only player in AFLW history to earn six All-Australian selections and has been named in defence. She also captains the side for the first time in her career.

After forging a reputation as one of the most brilliant midfielders in the history of the competition, Kearney transitioned into a backline role in 2022 and converted herself into a deadly influence rebounding out of defence.

Her record of playing in every home and away round in the competition's history was broken when she missed the Round 1 clash with Geelong, but she returned to put together one of the strongest seasons of her storied career.

Riddell's nomination in the starting 16 is a deserved reward for a career-best season after the midfielder shattered disposal records across the campaign.

Riddell equalled the existing record for disposals in a game in her 35-touch best-on-ground performance against Geelong in Round 1, and then smashed that same record in Round 10 with a 42-disposal masterclass against West Coast.

She also broke the record for most disposals in a home and away season after finishing the campaign with 299 at an average of 29.9 per game.

This is the second time she's been included in the final team after she made the interchange in 2020.

Garner was once again at her brilliant best in 2022, providing class and goals from the midfield as she once again proved herself to be a match-winning talent.

Finishing as the Kangaroos' leading goalkicker for the season with 11 majors, Garner has earned a spot on the interchange of the All-Australian side.

This is her fourth consecutive All-Australian selection, meaning both she and Kearney have been elected into the side in every season in the history of North's AFLW program.
