Shaun Higgins made an early departure from training on Wednesday, after he was called up to the Australian squad for the second Virgin Australia International Rules Test.
The Syd Barker Medal winner received the news during the Roos’ main skills session, before being whisked onto a plane to Perth.
Higgins enjoyed a career-best season in 2017, averaging 23.5 disposals, 476 metres gained and 4 clearances. He also booted 18 goals in 21 games.
North's number four joins Ben Brown and Robbie Tarrant in the Australian side.
Paddy Ryder is set to be rested for the second test against Ireland, while Scott Pendlebury is in doubt with a broken finger. Joel Selwood will be fit to play after missing the first game.
