North Melbourne's Brent Harvey has been handed a $2600 fine for misconduct.

The 34-year old was found to have pushed his Bulldogs' opponent Robert Murphy into the path of an umpire during the last quarter of Saturdays' win.

An early plea would reduce the sanction to $1950.

The Match Review Panel's findings were as follows:

Brent Harvey, North Melbourne, has been charged with misconduct in that he pushed Robert Murphy, Western Bulldogs, into the path of umpire Jason Armstrong during the fourth quarter of the Round 19 match between North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday August 4, 2012.
 
In summary, he can accept a $1950 sanction with an early plea.
 
A first offence for misconduct is a $2600 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $1950 sanction.
