The North Melbourne Kangaroos have re-listed Jared Polec in Friday's NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
Polec, 29, was the Kangaroos' only Rookie Draft selection following a National Draft which brought five new players to Arden St, including No.1 draft pick Jason Horne-Francis.
The club had committed to taking Polec with its No.1 pick in the Rookie Draft, having delisted him to gain more flexibility with list spots going into the National Draft.
"We appreciate Jared's co-operation in opening up that last list spot, as it allowed us to bring in one more really talented player on Thursday night," GM Football Brady Rawlings said.
"Jared's been at the club for some unscheduled training sessions, which is great given he's not due back until December 6."
Polec, who crossed from Port Adelaide ahead of the 2019 season, put together his best campaign for the club in his first season at Arden Street, playing 22 games for the side and finishing seventh in the best and fairest.
After playing 13 games in the Covid-affected 2020 season, hamstring issues curtailed his 2021 campaign, as he managed just five senior games for the season.
The club's remaining list spot will be filled by former Crow Tom Lynch, who will be taken by the Roos in the Supplemental Selection Period. This means Lynch won't need to go through the draft process and can be officially claimed any time between now and the start of next season.
