North Melbourne is on track to host games at Arden Street in 2019 with the redevelopment of its headquarters set to be completed.
"The hoardings have been erected around the site and things are happening," North managing director and CEO Carl Dilena said.
"At this stage we will be in a position to host VFL games here at our spiritual home which will be great for our players and supporters, but we've missed the window for the AFLW games due to some unavoidable delays. We had planned for AFLW games but will have to wait a little longer now.
"We've instead, arranged to play an AFLW game at Avalon Airport Oval in Werribee while Arden Street is being upgraded."
New lighting, coaches' boxes, interchange benches and a scoreboard are among the improvements set to be made to the Arden St Oval in the coming months, while internally, the players and staff will be the beneficiaries of new change rooms, lounge areas, medical and office spaces .
"We can't wait for the completion of this project and unveil a new, updated training facility," Dilena added.
"It will be a great occasion when we can have both our AFLW and VFL playing games here in the near future.
"Our aim now is to make sure we are ready for the VFL season."
