North Melbourne has made four changes to take on Box Hill at Fenjiu Stadium on Saturday.

Veterans Hugh Greenwood and Liam Shiels return to add some experience, while joining them in the line-up will be AFL-listed youngster Miller Bergman and VFL-listed Ben Davis.

Bergman returns to playing action after recovering from the fractured jaw he suffered in the opening round of the VFL season.

Going out of the side will be Will Phillips (AFL selection), Wil Dawson (injured), Kade De La Rue and Cooper Lord (both Young Guns selection).

The Kangaroos are coming off a thrilling one-point win against the Brisbane Lions where forward Sam Lowson was the hero with a late goal securing the victory.

Box Hill will be looking to bounce back from last week's 43-point loss to Gold Coast.

VFL R4 wrap: Hawks end Roos' unbeaten run

Box Hill has ended North Melbourne's undefeated start to the season, winning 20.11 (131) to 10.11 (71) at Fenjiu Stadium

Box Hill has ended North Melbourne's unbeaten start to the season, winning 20.11 (131) to 10.11 (71) at Fenjiu Stadium.

It's a disappointing result for the Roos after they started their season strongly, winning their first three games of the campaign.

North Melbourne captain Jack Watkins led the way for the Roos, racking up 24 disposals and eight inside 50s as his side's best afield.

    14:44

"It was really disappointing that we fell away in that last term," VFL coach Tom Lynch told NMFC Media.

"Even at three-quarter time I was confident and full of belief about what our group could achieve in that last quarter, but unfortunately for us we fell away and got taught a fair lesson by a team that was desperate and consistent over the day."

The Roos got off to a blinding start, with Jaidyn Stephenson kicking the first goal of the game after just 15 seconds had ticked by in the opening term.

It was an even contest throughout the first quarter, with both sides going goal-for-goal before finishing with four majors apiece at the end of the first quarter.

HAWKS v KANGAROOS Full match coverage and stats

Nick Hodgson kicked the second of his two goals after 10 minutes of the second quarter to put his side up by five points, but three free kicks for Box Hill inside its forward 50 allowed led to the Hawks taking an 18-point buffer into the main break.

Forwards Finnbar Maley and Sam Lowson both got involved at the start of the second half, with Lowson kicking his first and Maley kicking two of his own, one of which came from a colossal grab at the top of the goal square.

However, the Hawks controlled most of the second half and claimed their 60-point victory off the back of a 12-goal-to-five stretch to close out the clash.

In his return to the VFL line-up, Hugh Greenwood played the majority of the match in the midfield where he racked up 17 disposals, a goal, and a game-high 12 tackles.

VFL-listed Bode Stevens was a solid contributor around the ground and ended with 17 disposals and four clearances, while Brayden George chipped in with 19 touches.

"The most pleasing thing for Brayden is that he's been able to get that continuity through playing each week," Lynch said.

"With that has come with some consistency which has been really pleasing for him.

"His run off half-back and some of his contest wins today were really important for us. He was a big part of us being in the game at half-time, because we were only a couple of goals down at that break and his influence was quite significant to that point.

"We swung him forward late in that last quarter to see if we could get some of his qualities in the front half but we weren't able to give him too many opportunities."

In his first game back since fracturing his jaw against the Bullants in Round 1, Miller Bergman finished with 14 disposals, two rebound 50s, and a well-converted goal.
