Geelong's Joel Selwood is facing a race against time in a bid to be fit to take on North Melbourne on Saturday.
Selwood was subbed out of the Cats' win over Richmond with a corked quad.
“Joel, the professional that he is, will do everything humanly possible to get himself up for this week. He’s having treatment around the clock to try and get himself up,” Geelong GM of Football Simon Lloyd told the club's website.
“We’ll see how he functions at training come Thursday.”
Former Roo Shaun Higgins looks set to play his 250th game, having missed last week due to knee soreness.
“It was relatively minor and management of Shaun,” Lloyd said.
“We’d expect him to be available this week.”
Small forward Gryan Miers has been ruled out after re-injuring his right fibula.
