North Melbourne’s complete performance in the victory against Gold Coast on Saturday has culminated in a near clean sweep of the Round 15 coaches votes.
Jy Simpkin was awarded a game-high eight votes for his 30 disposals and goal from midfield, with his early, first quarter major setting the tone for a quality victory.
Cam Zurhaar and Todd Goldstein each polled six votes for their impressive performances, with Zurhaar playing arguably a career-best game.
Zurhaar has had no trouble hitting the scoreboard in recent weeks, adding 2 goals against the Suns to continue his impressive run of form. He also finished with 24 disposals at 79 per cent efficiency.
Goldstein was a dominant force in the ruck as he registered 44 hitouts, dwarfing the entire Gold Coast total of just 17.
The veteran big man also finished with an impressive 21 disposals and 6 clearances.
Ben Cunnington’s 28 disposals and 17 contested possessions saw him poll five votes, with his game-high 8 clearances seeing him break the North all-time clearance record.
Ben McKay rounded out the North votes, polling one vote for an impressive defensive performance in which he took 6 marks.
Touk Miller was the only Gold Coast player to poll, receiving four votes.
