North Melbourne has taken another step to ensure the safety of its members, supporters, players and staff.
Dominance, a long-time security provider, has partnered with the club to provide security at the club’s AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW games at Arden St as well as club events.
North CCO, Sam Bingley, said member and staff safety in the workplace and at club events is paramount.
“We pride ourselves on creating safe and inclusive environments for everyone to work and enjoy,” Bingley said.
“Dominance share very similar values around safety and protection including trust, respect and innovation to us here at North and we look forward to fostering the relationship.
“As we head into NAIDOC week and the Indigenous Round, we are also proud to support Dominance’s Reconciliation Action Plan.”
Dominance MD, Nick Karas said they were appreciative and proud to come on board as a partner and support reconciliation.
“We believe every organisation has a role to play in embracing and promoting equality and reconciliation and we encourage all of our clients to share our values and also provide safe workplaces," Karas said.
“Today we make our first formal step in launching our Reflect RAP on an exciting reconciliation journey.
"Just like North support their footballers, what we at Dominance are trying to do is foster long-term Indigenous employment in the security industry.
“Our Reflect RAP is part of our commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to provide employment and training opportunities in a culturally safe workplace.
“We know the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are underrepresented within the security industry and we want to make a difference by supporting communities and breaking down barriers to entry.
“We are proud to announce two scholarships created to support Indigenous Australia within the security Industry.
“Partnering with North is important for us. How we identify and strengthen our relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and non-indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians and the work the club does through the hub with their multi-cultural support programs is a great match.”
