You can’t fault the consistent efforts the North VFLW side puts forward every week.

It was the tough start against the Cats at Queens Park that saw North fall to a 23-point half-time deficit.

But that didn’t stop the Roos, seeing them fight back with outstanding pressure and intent in the third and fourth, only falling short by 16 points at the finish.

VFLW Coach Cheyne Webster says that the second half against Geelong should hold his team in good stead going forward.

“I said to the playing group after the game that if we play with that pressure and ball moment that we executed in the second half, we will be an extremely tough team to beat going forward,” he told North Media.

The impressive performances started with up-and-coming defender Molly Eastman, finishing the game with an impressive 18 touches, 6 tackles and 7 rebound 50s, while Sarah Skinner finished with 22 touches and 5 tackles.

Starved of opportunity in the first half, Brooke Brown made the most of the momentum in the second, with 3 goals and 17 touches to finish the game.

Webster has been impressed with her consistent performances.

“Brooke has been really important for us in the past couple of games. She looks really hungry to work on her game and developing her forward craft,” he said.

The Roos will plan to redeem themselves in Round 8 against Carlton on Sunday, April 25 at Arden Street.
