A host of North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos wreaked havoc through local competitions throughout Victoria and Tasmania over the weekend.
Daria Bannister dominated in the Tasmanian State League Women’s (TSLW), kicking eight goals for Launceston, while her counterpart Libby Haines was named among the best; as was Nicole Bresnehan for Clarence.
Select Victorian based players took to the field for VFL affiliate Melbourne University Women’s Football Club (MUWFC), with Jas Garner named the best-on-ground after a stellar performance.
Garner proved to be a headache for Geelong, collecting 31 disposals, 6 tackles and 3 goals in the 44-point victory.
The Kangaroos’ inaugural best-and-fairest winner Jenna Bruton was also impressive with 22 disposals, 7 clearances and 5 clearances through the midfield.
Kate Gillespie-Jones dominated the ruck with 24 hit-outs and a laid an impressive game-high 10 tackles.
Jas Grierson, Elisha King and Taylor Mesiti were also influential in the team’s victory.
