After spending the last two seasons with North, Brad Green’s time at Arden Street has come to an end.
The assistant coach joined the Roos at the end of 2015 and helped guide the club to the finals in 2016, looking after the team’s defensive group.
“Brad has been a great support to Brad Scott and the players since joining us from Carlton,” GM Football Cameron Joyce said.
“He is a quality person with a tremendous amount of football knowledge after spending almost 20 years at the highest level as a player and assistant coach.”
Green played in 254 games for Melbourne, and made six appearances for Australia between 2004 and 2011, before moving into coaching with the Blues at the end of 2012.
North has also farewelled former player and part-time ruck coach Alex Ishchenko, who has left the club to focus on work outside of football.
Ishchenko played a major role in the rise of Todd Goldstein, guiding the elite ruckman through four finals series since 2012 (including two preliminaries), an All-Australian selection and Syd Barker Medal.
“I’m indebted to Alex and the work he’s done with me over the journey,” Goldstein told NMFC.com.au.
“His experience and knowledge of the ruck craft and the game has been invaluable.
“He’s helped me through so many periods in my career since becoming ruck coach in 2010 and I’m sad to see him go.”
Ishchenko played 142 games for West Coast, Brisbane and North Melbourne between 1987 to 1995.
