Jack Ziebell says North fans can be "bloody excited" to watch the club's emerging youngsters and a new game-plan in action.
With a raft of new faces, in both the coaching and playing group, the Roos will have a completely new look in 2021, and Ziebell can't wait to be a part of it.
"I think you'll see what 'Nobes' (David Noble) has put in place is that we'll try to play a far more attacking brand of football," the skipper told AAP.
"We're going to try to kick more goals, obviously improving our defence as well, but the priorities are around getting our young recruits some game time."
Will Phillips, Charlie Lazzaro, Tom Powell, Phoenix Spicer and Eddie Ford all enjoyed a taste of the action during the club's pre-season clashes against St Kilda and Hawthorn, with each of the draftees showing they can cut it at the level.
"We're looking forward to seeing them play and our fans should be bloody excited about that because for the first time in a long time we've got some elite talent coming through the draft into the footy club," Ziebell said.
"You'll see improvement from Luke Davies-Uniacke and Tarryn Thomas as well, so we've got a young core of players now that are really exciting that fans should be thrilled to see.
"We've taken a lot of lessons out of last year but we don't spend much time thinking about what happened, we're thinking about what's happening now, because we've had so much change."
For Ziebell, it's a fresh start too, in defence.
The 30-year-old has played all across the ground during his 12 AFL seasons, but 2021 presents a new opportunity in the back half.
"It's probably the first time in about three or four seasons that I've actually done a full pre-season," Ziebell added.
"I know the last couple years leading into round one I've been chasing my tail, whereas this year I've done all the work."
North takes on Port Adelaide in its season-opener, on March 21 at Marvel Stadium.
