Drew Petrie has staked his claim as an AFL superboot, winning Fox Footy's Longest Kick competition on Grand Final day.
Up against a host of current and former stars, Petrie edged his competitors out of the running with an impressive torpedo across Melbourne’s Yarra River.
In a stellar field featuring Dustin Fletcher, Matthew Pavlich, Travis Cloke, Bernie Vince, Tom Hawkins, Brendan Fevola, Alex Rance, Taylor Walker, Jake Stringer, Jonathan Simpkin and David Armitage, the 293-game Roo kicked the furthest distance across the banks of the Yarra at Birrarung Marr.
Petrie was the successful superboot, kicking 60.4 metres as the final competitor, beating Cloke and All-Australian defender Alex, who Rance led the charge from the start of the event.
