The North Ballarat Roosters are through to the 2008 VFL Grand Final after a 12 point win over the Werribee Tigers at TEAC Oval today.

North Melbourne's Josh Smith booted four goals for the winners, while JJ Liston Medal winner James Podsiadly kicked five goals for Werribee.

The Tigers got off to an impressive start, opening up an early lead, but North Ballarat fought back strongly late in the first quarter, and went into the first change with a one point lead.

They continued their good form in the second quarter, a four goal to two term pushing the Roosters' lead to 15 points at the main break.

Werribee fought back strongly though in the third quarter - with Podsiadly and Michael Barlow in good form up forward, they got the margin back to just two points at the last change, making for an exciting last quarter.

North Ballarat finished the game the stronger of North Melbourne's two VFL aligned teams though, eventually saluting by two goals and booking themselves a place in next week's Grand Final against Port Melbourne at Telstra Dome on Friday night.
