North supporters and football fans hoping to see Majak Daw make his debut on Sunday will have to hold their breath a little longer with the Sudanese-born Roo named as an emergency for the match against Collingwood.

The 22-year-old was named in North’s initial squad of 25 on Thursday but was squeezed out of the final 22.

Former Gold Coast Sun Taylor Hine and former Hawk Will Sierakowski will also have to be patient, joining Daw on the emergency list.

Liam Anthony, Sam Wright, Leigh Adams and Sam Gibson remain on North’s bench, with the side’s substitute still to be determined.

The final 22 will train at Aegis Park on Saturday from 11.30am and barring any hiccups, will take to the field at Etihad Stadium at 4.40pm the following day hoping to secure a second consecutive win over the Magpies.

Last time the sides met in 2012, North secured a 30-point, come-from-behind win.
