Lachie Hosie will become Shinboner #1026 when he makes his North Melbourne debut on Wednesday night.
Hosie was the fifth pick in the 2019 Mid-season Rookie Draft, leading the SANFL goal kicking charts at the time.
The number 46 impressed in the VFL, booting 20 goals in 10 games, but has found it tough to break into a forward line full of young talent.
In July, Hosie suggested he needed to work more on his defensive game, and it appears his hard work has paid off with his selection.
“It hasn’t really sunk in yet. It’s a massive relief, and I’m so pumped for tomorrow night,” Hosie told North Media.
“I’ve been dreaming about this my whole life. There have been stages I thought it wouldn’t happen, but I’m very grateful (it has).
“I’m just going to try and show my skills, and try and play my role for the team.”
