North Melbourne fell to the West Coast Eagles on Sunday, but despite the loss there were a number of very promising fantasy performances from old hands and new faces alike.

Jed Anderson played his second game for North and Ryan Clarke made his AFL debut, while the likes of Corey Wagner and Trent Dumont also continued to show the Roos' next-generation talent.

We’ve taken a look below at the players named ahead of the match in Footy Prophet’s Fantasy Five to see how they did.

1. Todd Goldstein ($514,000 RUC)

65 hit-outs was an excellent effort from Goldstein against a Naitanui-less West Coast, but the Eagles put significant work into restricting him around the ground, and that kept him to just 11 touches.

That’s been a common theme for Goldstein this year but despite those difficulties he still finished the match with a very healthy fantasy score of 106.

2. Sam Gibson ($446,000 MID)

Playing his 100th AFL game, Gibson was in excellent form and really stood up for the Roos, finishing with a typically prolific 29 disposals and seven marks.

He also kicked a goal and ultimately finished with a very healthy fantasy score of 111.

3. Andrew Swallow ($405,000 MID)

The skipper was typically hard-working in his 200th AFL game, collecting 25 disposals with 12 contested possessions and four clearances.

Six tackles was also a solid effort from him and lead to a fantasy score of 92.

4. Jed Anderson ($212,000 FWD)

Jed played his second game as a Roo and while North didn’t get the result it was a solid return to senior level footy for the former Hawk.

After being laid over nearly four months with a hamstring injury, Anderson found 11 disposals and also took the opportunity to kick his first goal in blue and white.

The end result was 50 fantasy points. Look for him to continue to build as the season goes on.

5. Ryan Clarke ($164,000 MID)

Clarke was a late in for the Roos due to an illness to Nick Dal Santo and North’s second pick from the 2015 AFL draft didn’t disappoint.

He finished the match with a very impressive total of 21 disposals, and also had four clearances and four inside 50s – a very solid contribution.

This came out to a fantasy score of just 60 however, with marks (two) and tackles (none) being the key areas to improve in.
