North Melbourne players have had their fair share of bizarre injuries and the latest at the club is no exception.

Some may say they’re just ‘bad luck’, while others might label the incidents like Liam Anthony’s severed finger tendon as simply ‘unusual’.

Whichever way you look at it, neither is ideal for the player or the club heading into the season.

In Levi Greenwood’s case, his recently broken toe was just the result of a poor choice of tracksuit pants.

“I was at home, in my trackies coming down the stairs and my toe got caught up in the leg of the pants and it twisted,” Greenwood explained to kangaroos.com.au.

“I sort of slid down the stairs and banged it on the stairs as I fell. It swelled up and hurt quite a bit so I had scans and there was a small fracture there.”

Greenwood joins small midfielder Cruize Garlett on the injury list who sustained a small fracture in his wrist during last Saturday’s VFL practice match.

“I just landed on it awkwardly during the game against Werribee in Ballarat,” Garlett said.

“The timing isn’t great but I don’t think it will keep me out for too long and the important thing for me is that I’m still able to train and maintain my fitness.”

Kangaroos’ rookie Majak Daw is also in the casualty ward at Arden Street after fracturing his big toe in the same match in Ballarat while playing for Werribee.
