Introduced at the Crown Palladium as 'One of North's greatest', Glendinning played 190 games for the club between 1978 and 1986, winning the Syd Barker Medal and Brownlow Medal in 1983.

Speaking before a sold-out crowd, Glendinning described the time he knew he made the right choice coming to North Melbourne.

"On Christmas Day 1976, I ran a few laps of the Arden Street oval and went to Ron Joseph's house afterwards. Immediately I knew I was in the right place."

Glendinning was known for his strong marking, dashing runs and long accurate kicking.
