If there was one word Cameron Pedersen had to use to describe his 2012 season it would be 'frustrating'. The 25-year old only managed two games for North Melbourne but his determination to improve and finish off the season well is set to hold him in good stead for Werribee in the VFL finals.

"It's certainly frustrating when you're not getting a senior game and I'm a pretty competitive person. You always want to get the best out of yourself and your football and this year hasn't been easy," Pedersen told kangaroos.com.au.

"I guess it's been hard but I can't let it effect me too much. I want to get back to playing AFL footy, for me and for my family especially, but until then I'll keep working on what I need to improve on."

Pedersen has been a consistent, good performer for Werribee and he's still loving his football, regardless of who it's for.

"The guys at Werribee are great, we've been doing pretty well this year and the whole group is really hungry to succeed. Finals are an exciting time and we're hoping to take it all the way to the Grand Final this year.

"There are a lot of us North guys playing for Werribee and it's kind of good because we're a tight-knit group."

Pedersen suffered an ankle injury a few weeks ago but will make his return for the Tigers in their Preliminary Final against Geelong this Sunday.

"The ankle feels great, 100 percent actually. I had to wear a moon boot for three days after I injured it so I was hobbling around for a bit then but I've had three weeks to recover now and it's really good.

"Mango (Brad Mangan) played up forward while I was out for a couple of games. He did a good job, I stirred him up because he couldn't get on the scoreboard but he definitely contributed well and filled the gap."

Outside of footy, Pedersen is looking forward to welcoming his second child into the world.

"Sarah is due on the 14th of October so we timed that well to fit around football," he joked.

"It will be a pretty busy off season for us with two little ones to take care of but I'm really looking forward to it and our daughter Charlee will be a great big sister."
