Plays of the Week - Round 21
Saturday night?'s victory over Collingwood was arguably North Melbourne?'s most impressive of the season.
While there have been wins by a heavier margin and wins which weren't sealed until late in the final term, Saturday night's victory over Collingwood was arguably North Melbourne's most impressive of the season.
The Kangaroos broke away from their opponents with nine goals to one from midway through the first term, and unsurprisingly the majority of this week's best plays are from that stage of the match.

1. Petrie defence, Thomas goal
Collingwood is leading by seven points as Chris Dawes marks at half-back. He attempts to switch into space but Drew Petrie arrives out of nowhere to intercept and bring the ball to ground on the wing.
Brent Harvey gets to the fall of the ball to provide a hand and dishes to Liam Anthony who delivers towards Lindsay Thomas inside the forward 50. After winning the free kick, Thomas goes back and converts for North's first goal of the second quarter and what would be the first of five goals in a row.
2. Ziebell clearance, Hansen mark
Jack Ziebell streaks away from the pack with the centre clearance as the Kangaroos assert their influence in the middle during the second term.
Ziebell goes long to the goal square where Lachlan Hansen engages in a one-on-one battle with Heath Shaw. With sheer strength, Hansen protects the drop zone and takes a one-grab contested mark before going back and kicking North's second goal in a minute.
3. Tarrant intercept mark and goal
Following a North behind, Collingwood attempts to clear the ball, but Sharrod Wellingham has nothing to kick to. Forced to turn and switch the play towards Heath Shaw in the defensive goal square, his kick is anticipated to perfection by Robbie Tarrant. He cuts it off and kicks the goal from close range.
4. Gibson pressure, Garlett goal
It appears Collingwood has cleared a North forward foray but pressure from Sam Gibson and Ryan Bastinac on Paul Seedsman forces a contest. An excellent quick handpass from Gibson to Ben Cunnington gives him room and the number 10 finds Cruize Garlett on the 50 in space. Garlett steadies and makes no mistake from 45 metres.
5. Harper tackle
North's first entry inside 50 for the final term results in a Collingwood rebound and it appears the Magpies are in the process of going coast-to-coast.
The speedy Caolan Mooney takes possession on the wing and tries to burn off Kieran Harper. But Harper has other ideas. He chase him down from behind and starts another Kangaroos' attack.
