In his third season at Arden Street, Goldstein emerged from his back-up role behind Hamish McIntosh to form a terrific combination with his fellow big man.
He found more of the ball around the ground and his tap work improved to the point where he was ranked 14th in the league for hit-outs.
Goldstein faced a great challenge when Hamish McIntosh was ruled out with injury for round eight but he responded with one of the best games of his career, amassing 41 hit-outs.
At only 22 years of age, coach Brad Scott will be looking forward to even more improvement from Goldstein in a position that naturally takes a longer development period.
AFL.com.au’s Steve Lavell says: Would have been granted another development year but was one of the season's biggest success stories. Formed a damaging ruck combination with Hamish McIntosh and caused opponents some headaches in the forward line. Tap work is first class.
Highlights: Round 8 v Adelaide - 14 possessions, 41 hit-outs, 1 goal
Round 14 v Geelong - 22 possessions, 10 marks, 1 goal

The fans say: Fred - September 16th
Goldy will be a great ruckmen in a few years, a brilliant pick up by the club.
Ash - September 16th
Coming along well but needs to take more marks and spends a lot of time forward needs more than 10 goals for the season but well done.
Darren - September 16th
Todd developed really well this year. When he was the sole ruckman for a few weeks, he really stood up to the challenges. Seemed to run out of steam for the last 6 weeks which is understandable for a guy with his exprience. Definitely not a key forward, but more than capable of being the main ruck option. Well done Goldy.
Norm - September 16th
What a great season from a developing top liner. Todd only has to improve 10% and will create problems for the opposition. Todd, work hard and take the next step.
