Black's sizzling six
Aaron Black has put himself in the best possible position for a senior call up after an amazing six-goal return in Ballarat on Saturday.
The athletic forward was a standout for North Ballarat in a VFL practice match against Werribee at Eureka Stadium despite hot and windy conditions.
The west Australian battled groin injuries for much of last year and was only able to make his debut against Richmond in the final round of the season. While he showed promising signs, he was subbed out due to a lack of fitness.
He was able to travel to Utah late last year after missing the club's first altitude camp and is now reaping the rewards of his first full pre-season.
Black also gathered 15 possessions in the Roosters' win while Liam Anthony collected 21 touches, five tackles and five inside 50's.
Their performances could see them included in the squad which will travel to New South Wales to play Sydney on Saturday night in the second NAB Cup match.
More details from the VFL match will be reported in the coming days on kangaroos.com.au.
