2005
In: Jade Rawlings (Western Bulldogs), Pick 43 (Andrew Swallow)
Out: Pick 46 (originally from Port Adelaide) (Travis Baird)
While Jade Rawlings was the centrepiece of this trade a year after North almost secured him, it ended up being the draft pick received by the Kangaroos which was ultimately most valuable.
With pick 43 in the 2005 National Draft, North Melbourne selected Andrew Swallow; a man who ended up becoming the captain at the beginning of 2012.
North gave pick 46 to the Bulldogs, a selection only temporarily in its grasp as a result of trading Daniel Motlop to Port Adelaide. That pick was used by the Bulldogs on Travis Baird who had played two games earlier in the year for Brisbane. He only managed three games in two years at the Bulldogs.
