Brad Scott has opted for a mix of youth and experience in his first appearance as senior coach after narrowing his squad to 25 for the clash against the Power on Thursday.

After announcing Ryan Bastinac's call-up at a media conference, Scott later named former first round pick Robbie Tarrant on an extended bench and says the 20 year-old is in line for selection.

"He'll certainly be considered. He's performed really well to this point," Scott said.

The Kangaroos have named Todd Goldstein up forward, but are yet to confirm who will be looked upon to fill the void left by the suspended and now injured Drew Petrie.

Aaron Edwards and Josh Smith have been left out of the side, while Corey Jones has been named on the interchange.

Scott confident he'll have the right players to step up to the plate.

"We think we've got a very flexible forward line. We can go quite tall or quite small. We've just quite a lot of options and just have to work out what the best mix is to beat Port Adelaide."

Returning to the side after a long break is Daniel Wells with the midfielder not having played since the middle of last year.

Jack Ziebell will also be welcomed back after breaking his leg against Adelaide.
